i have been going through everyone's journal entries lately and then "BAM". it hit me.

(warning: rant ahead. skip to the better parts of you will.)

it hit me that indeed, facebook killed alot of things; good things. i'm glad that i have recently decided to get off the network completely (and off the entire microblogging sphere) because i've realized that nothing good comes from it. the matter is not just about something academic; it hit me that i, by nature, am a terribly antisocial person and being in a network with so many people just caused my little, meticulously constructed universe to unravel because i am letting too many people in.

it hit me too that there's so little useful information in the social network. nothing useful will ever come to you if you're only absorbing shit from people who only ever talk about themselves. i find myself agreeing with an article i read over a year ago, where it was opined that immersing oneself too much into the blogosphere is damaging because that there are no facts and no useful knowledge circulating within, only opinion; bloggers only say what they want to say and hear what they want to hear. in effect, people within the blogoshpere are almost never exposed to anything new, and inspiration, needless to say, will come slow.

that's why i went back to deviantart, and it's a good change.
i just wanted to get away from everything; there's so much bullshit going on in facebook that it will all eventually just wear someone out. i've gotten myself so deep in shit i just want to go somewhere where nobody but my friends can reach me, and that's deviantart. thank god for deviantart.

OK, enough of the emoshit. let me tell you what i've been doing:

i went back to the drawing board again, after a months-long facebook-related slump.
(see what i meant when i said facebook killed alot of good things?)
and it hit me (HARD) that i have so much work to do.

here's my lineup of WIPs that i want / have to finish, to remind me again (ala-tare)

1 - achilles, for ate monica. now, this baby is long overdue.
2 - the squid. i have once said that this is a magnum opus in the making, and it still is. i think it's my best work to date.
3 - trese. his excellency budjette tan himself said that he wanted to see it finished, and his word is law.
4 - werd, for missy - pyon (for catching the 600 kiriban)
5 - ninoy aquino (polishing) for mara o. she already paid the downpayment but since i'm such an asshole i still haven't given anything to her.
6 - kampfer / "arrow of belial". this is the piece i'm currently working on, and things are not looking up. will post rough sketch soon.
7 - pavi largo. i want to fix this one, it really showed alot of promise before.

i'm happy to say that it's lantern parade month for us at FA, and that means less homework. i really want to come up with alot of new material this time, kahit sketches lang.

i've been browsing through alot of artworks again recently (yep, i'm afraid i lost my love for looking at pictures), and i've been on a fave / save / devwatch spree.
and hot deym, DA is one massive source of inspiration.

i seem to always forget that beneath all that anthro furry porn and half - done anime shit, DA still delivers, and is still very full of awesome

i'm a member of the andy warhol fan club here on DA, and i've been an admin for a few months now.
i recently checked up on the account and, seeing that both of the other admins were inactive too, i decided to take the reins for a while.
